About Maribyrnong Triennial Arts Partners 2023-2026

At the City of Maribyrnong, our vision is to help our communities flourish. We want to create a lively, enriched society where our dynamic creative sector thrives.

In 2025, Maribyrnong Council endorsed New Horizons: Creative Maribyrnong 2030 with the aim of increasing the social, cultural and economic benefits that creativity delivers for the whole community. Its priorities are:

  • A creative and inspiring place to be, where everyone can participate and feel a sense of pride and connection;
  • A hothouse for creativity that supports artists, makers, and creative businesses to thrive;
  • An immersive cultural destination that draws visitors, energises our streets and celebrates the unique identity of our City.

To support our local arts and cultural sector, Maribyrnong City Council provides financial and in-kind support through subsidised Council-owned arts facilities, artist residency programs and funding through the Triennial Arts Partner Program.

Triennial Arts Partner Funding is designed to:

  • Provide multi-year organisational funding to significant arts, cultural or heritage organisations in the City of Maribyrnong;
  • Assist local organisations’ capacity to deliver programmes that support local artists and the creative workforce, build new audiences and increase participation in the arts by the community;
  • Strengthen local organisations’ financial viability by leveraging Council’s support to build partnerships and diversify income;
  • Enable forward planning for arts organisations through multi-year funding to reduce administrative processes, build organisational capacity and increase impact;
  • Increase creative outcomes in Maribyrnong ensuring that the aims of the New Horizons: Creative Maribyrnong 2030 are realised.

This is a competitive program. As an applicant you must address the Selection Criteria demonstrating a strong track record of producing high quality work that engages the community.
